- Mission of the/ AWG
This working group is an opportunity to extend the work of individual researchers and projects to a larger context by encouraging collaboration between its ‘members. The mission of this AWG is to promote original research in the field of Multi-Criteria Decision Aid at the African level.
- Rationale
Multicriteria Decision Aid is an important branch of Operational Research. Beyond the exchanges and meetings by means of international conferences and the publications in academic journals, the objectives of the working group are:
- To contribute to the development of an African network in the field of Multicriteria Decision Aid.
- To keep the group alive and open through periodic meetings.
- To promote new ideas and practical research with impact on the society.
- To link this group to other national, regional and international groups
The Working Group is designed to bring together individuals possessing the relevant knowledge and skills who will act either individually or collectively to undertake research and activities in order to achieve the above objectives.
This working group is formed to respond to two recommendations:
- To disseminate recent models and techniques related to Multicriteria Decision Making through researchers and practitioners from all over the African Continent.
- To enhance participatory research by increasing strategic communication between the groups ‘members. The group can also serve as a collection point for questions, concerns and recommendations from the members and other entities on issues related to Multicriteria Decision Making
